The Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) was established in 1991 as the apex body in the technical and vocational education and training sector under the provisions of the Tertiary and Vocational Education Act No 20 of 1990.

Its primary responsibility is policy formulation, planning, quality assurance, coordination and development of tertiary and vocational education in the country. York Graduate Campus range of Diploma courses are all TVEC Approved.

After completion of this course, the trainees will possess great confidence in teaching with the ability to teach any subject.

Entry requirements

You are eligible to apply for this program if you have any of the following qualifications


The candidate should have successfully obtained at least Three (3) Passes at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination conducted by The Government of Sri Lanka National or any other International Body as a mandatory requirement of enrolment.

The candidates should also have successfully obtained at least Six (6) Passes at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination conducted by The Government of Sri Lanka National or any other International Body inclusive of Credit passes in 1st Language, Mathematics and English

4 Months FREE Internship during the course at York International School. Students have the opportunity to choose which branch they prefer to do their internship.

Continues Assessments, Summative Test, Projects, Presentations and Teaching Observations
